Transparent per-journal APCs across our entire catalogue. Waivers and reduced rates available for researchers from low- and middle-income countries.
Scholarena is an open-access publisher. Authors pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to publish in our journals, which are released under a Creative Commons Attribution Licence. Every article is then freely available to every reader — no subscriptions, no paywalls.
The APC covers the complete cost of producing and sustaining an open-access article:
APCs are irrespective of article length. There are no extra charges for figures, colour figures, tables, short videos, or supplementary data.
All amounts in USD · Subject to revision · Excludes applicable taxes
We believe cost should not be a barrier to publishing. Waivers and reduced rates are available for researchers who demonstrate need:
Waiver requests are handled independently of peer review — editors are not involved in payment correspondence, and your waiver decision does not affect your acceptance decision.
The APC is the only publication fee. No submission fee. No per-page charges. No extra fees for figures, tables, or supplementary data.
