Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions authors and readers ask most often.

What is Open Access?
Open Access (OA) is the practice of providing unrestricted access through the internet to peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles. Scholarena's Open Access system follows the Creative Commons Attribution License.
How do I submit my article?
Submit your article online. Electronic submission substantially reduces editorial processing and review times. Click Submit Manuscript, select a journal, and follow the portal steps.
Where can I find the scope of a journal?
To know the scope of a particular journal, please see the "Aims and Scope" section on the journal home page. Each journal has this specific section in detail. For further queries, contact the journal directly via the email address on its page.
Who pays the article processing charges?
The corresponding author is responsible for payment. Waivers and reduced rates are available — see our Waivers Policy.
I lost my login ID and password. How do I recover them?
To obtain your login credentials, write to contact@scholarena.com with the journal name and article title.
How long does peer review take?
Our platform median is 29 days from submission to first editorial decision. Complex manuscripts may take longer — we keep you informed throughout via your author portal.
What are the article processing charges?
APCs vary by journal, with a standard rate of $2,280 USD and a range from $1,300 to $3,890 across the catalogue. Reduced rates apply to researchers in World Bank low- and lower-middle income economies, and full waivers are available on request. See the APC page for details.
Can I serve as a peer reviewer or editor?
Yes — we actively welcome qualified reviewers and editorial board members. See Become a Reviewer or Join the Editorial Board.
What is your policy on research integrity?
We follow COPE guidelines for publication ethics. All submissions are screened for plagiarism; concerns are investigated transparently, and corrections or retractions are published as appropriate.
Where are your articles indexed?
Every article is assigned a CrossRef DOI. Our journals are indexed across Google Scholar, CrossRef, Harvard Library, Mendeley, WorldCat, and more. See our Indexing page for the full list.
