Dr. Carlien Pohl-Albertyn is an Associate professor in the Pathogenic Yeast Research Group at the Department of Microbial, Biochemical and Food Biotechnology, University of the Free State, South Africa. She obtained PhD in 2000 on Lipid metabolism of Mucor genevensis at University of the Free State. She also worked as lecturer and researcher at University of the Free State, Bloemfontein.
Dr. Carlien Pohl-Albertyn received an award for research from the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences in 2011 and achieved a patent in 2013. She authored book chapters and has many publications. She is a member of various professional organizations and committees. She is also acting as Editorial member of Dataset Papers in Biology, Recent Patents on Anti-Infective Drug Discovery.
Dr. Carlien Pohl-Albertyn's primary research interest is in Bioactive Lipids of Pathogenic Yeasts and Antifungal Lipids.
