Dr. László Szonyi is currently working as a consultant Paediatric Hepatologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Until 2014 he was the Associate professor in the Department of Paediatrics, Semmelweis University Budapest, Hungary. He was the head of Hepatological Department and the head of Metabolic Screening Centre at the Semmelweis University, Hungary. He is a member of several gastroenterological and metabolic associations i.e., European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition, Society for the Study of Inborn Error of Metabolism, Association of Paediatric metabolic disorders. He has mentored international and national students in his carrier. He is serving as a referee for different international gastroenterology and metabolic journals. He has several scientific publications, book chapters and abstracts presented at international scientific meetings
Dr. László Szőnyi’s research interest includes alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency, hereditary liver diseases, paediatric liver transplantation, newborn screening for inborn errors of metabolism, Paediatrics, Hepatology, Transplantation, Gastroenterology, and Metabolic diseases.
