Biography

Dr. Tsygankova Victoria is ​Principal researcher, Senior Staff Scientist, Head of group of screening of synthetic compounds of Department for Chemistry of Bioactive Nitrogen-Containing Heterocyclic Compounds, Institute of Bioorganic, Chemistry and Petrochemistry, NAS, Ukraine. She has completed her science doctoral degree in Biotechnology in the Institute of Food Biotechnology and Genomics, National Academy Of Science, Ukraine and post-doctoral degree in Plant Physiology from the same academy in Ukraine (2004). She published more than150 articles in the Ukrainian national and international peer-reviewed journals and holds 5 Ukrainian patents. She is a member of different organizations such as Ukrainian Society of Geneticists and Breeders and American Society Plant Biologists (ASPB). She is the recipient of several awards and honors for her excellence. She also serves as a co-editor, editorial board member, and reviewer of many scientific articles related to soil, food, agricultural and environmental sciences, biotechnology and bioengineering.

Research Interests

Dr. Tsygankova Victoria research  background in the creation of new effective and ecologically safe plant growth regulators of synthetic and natural origin and study of the physiological, biochemical and molecular-genetic aspects of their action on accelerating growth of agricultural plants, improving of crop productivity and increasing of plant resistance to pathogenic and parasitic organisms (bacteria, fungi, nematodes and insect-pests) and stress-factors of environment (drought, cold, heat, soil contamination etc.) by the way of inducing of RNA interference (RNAi) process in the plant cells.
