Dr. Huize Pan is currently working at the Department of Medicine, Columbia University Medical Center for his postdoctoral training in the field of cardiovascular diseases. He graduated in 2011 with a B.S. in Bioscience from Anhui University, China. In 2016, he obtained his Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. So far, he has authored several papers in Science, Cell Research, EMBO Mol. Med., Protein Cell, etc. He has also been serving as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Huize Pan is interested in the translational study of GWAS loci related to cardio-metabolic diseases and novel mechanisms of atherosclerosis at molecular, cellular and animal levels, as well as human studies by utilizing a broad range of techniques. His research interests include:
1. Mechanism of GWAS identified loci in atherosclerosis.
2. Smooth muscle cell density tracing in atherosclerosis.
3. CRISPR/Cas9 screening of potential genetic loci regulating human smooth muscle cell functions.
