Dr. Christos Eftychiou is currently working as an Interventional Cardiologist in Cardiology Department of Nicosia General Hospital since June 2011. His duties include Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) including Primary PCIs in acute myocardial infarction, rotablation coronary angioplasties, use of Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Pressure wire (iFR/FFR), ASD/PFO closures, Aortic Valvuloplasty in severe Aortic Valve stenosis and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).
During the period of May 2010 to May 2011 he was a Fellow in Interventional Cardiology in Leeds General Infirmary, UK, with a training grant awarded by EAPCI. He studied medicine in the Medical School of National Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed my training in Cardiology in hospitals of Greece and Cyprus. Ph.D. was done in association with the Medical School of National University of Athens.
He is a scientific collaborator of the Medical School of University of Cyprus, Scientific collaborator of the School of Medicine of the European University of Cyprus and Honorary Assistant Professor of University of Nicosia Medical School. He is also involved in the teaching of the Cardiology trainees of the Cardiology department of Nicosia General Hospital as an instructor of the European Resuscitation Council for the Advance Life Support (ALS) courses.
Dr. Christos Eftychiou is the Chairman of the Cyprus Resuscitation Council and also the Vice President of the Cyprus Interventional Cardiology Working Group.
Dr. Christos Eftychiou’s research interests include Primary PCI, rotational atherectomy, IFR/FFR, TAVI and acute coronary syndromes.
