Dr. Tofy Mussivand is presently working as Chair and Director of the Cardiovascular Devices Program at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and also a Chair of the Medical Devices Program, Professor of Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine in the same university, Canada. He also a Professor of Engineering in the School of Information Technology and Engineering, and Professor in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Ottawa and Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. He has received his Ph.D.in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Akron, United States. He is the recipient of various awards and honors for his excellence. He has contributed to more than 80 major organizations nationally and internationally, including companies, institutes, universities, and hospitals. He is serving as an Editorial board member and reviewer for international scientific journals. He has invented 36 technologies in medical devices and owns 20 patents. He has authored and Published over 500 books, papers, technical reports, and editorials.
Dr. Tofy Mussivand’s research interest includes Medical Devices Research and Development, Artificial Organs, Cardiovascular Devices, Regulatory Standards and Guidelines, Clinical Engineering, Artificial Hearts, Fluid Dynamics and Biosensors.
