Dr. Melinda Madléna is currently working as Head of the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at University of Szeged, Hungary and also as Associate professor in Department of Paedodontics and Orthodontics, Semmelweis University, Hungary. She obtained her Ph.D. at the Hungarian Scientific Academy, Hungary. She began her research career at the Medical University of Debrecen in Hungary, working within its Dental Faculty, where she had previously graduated. Since then, she has performed epidemiological studies and further scientific examinations on the relationships between caries, periodontal diseases and other contributing factors in different populations.
She has extensive knowledge related to epidemiological studies on oral health, caries prevention and the interdisciplinary teamwork in groups of all ages. She is an actively publishing author with more than 80 written scientific publications both in Hungarian, English or German languages and more than 600 independent citations.
Dr. Melinda Madléna’s research interest is focused on Epidemiological examination of the oral health status in different adult and child populations, Oral aspects of different systemic diseases, Possibilities of caries prevention in different risk populations, Tooth erosion and dentin caries with special interest of the possibilities of remineralisation.
