Dr. Bronislaw Slomiany is presently working as Professor in the Department of Oral Biology Rutgers School of Dental Medicine The State University of New Jersey United States. Dr. BL Slomiany obtained his Ph.D. from the New York Medical College, Department of Biochemistry, NYC in 1971. The research of the Dr. Bronislaw Slomiany revolves around the Biology and function of alimentary tract secretions; glycobiology of saliva and gastrointestinal tract mucus; structure, macromolecular organization, and the role ofmucus in mucosal defense; alcohol abuse and oral mucosal and gastric injury; molecularbasis of mucosal tissue injury and repair; pathogenic mechanisms of P. gingivalis and H.pylori action and mucosal defense. He published Over 550 original research papers.
Dr. Bronislaw Slomiany’s research interest includes extracellular matrix and their cell surface receptors(integrins); tooth-gingiva interaction; biochemistry of calcium channels; modulators of oral and gastric epithelial secretory responses; apoptosis, signal transduction; endothelins, cPLA2, nitric oxide synthase; NSAID and gastric and oral mucosal wound healing; biochemical pharmacology of mucosal inflammatory responses.
