Dr. Restivo is currently working as consultant Neurologist at the Neurologic Unit of the "Garibaldi" Hospital of Catania; where in addition to clinical work is also chief of the laboratory of clinical neurophysiology. He received a Ph.D. in "Applied Biomedical Sciences" at the Institute of Human Physiology, the University of Catania in 2002.
Dr. Restivo has participated in important international clinical trials on diabetic neuropathic pain, and he has received grants as principal investigator for research projects on neurogenic dysphagia by the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (FISM). He is author/coauthor of about 100 scientific publications in journals of national and international importance. He participated as a speaker to a number of international neurological meetings and is a reviewer of numerous prestigious international scientific journals.
Dr. Restivo’s research interest includes Dysphagia, Neuropathic pain, Botulinum toxin Treatment, Peripheral neuropathy, Electromyography, Pharyngeal electrical stimulation, Transcranial direct current stimulation(Tdcs).
