Dr. Javed Masood Khan (born 1982) is a biochemist, biophysical chemist and molecular biologist working as a researcher at the King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My main research goals are protein-ligand (detergents, food additive dyes, food additives and so on) interaction, protein fibrillation mechanism and proteins stability. Protein aggregation can lead to amyloid fibril formation and these fibrils are concerned in a number of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson and prion diseases. I am currently involved in understanding the molecular mechanisms of protein aggregation and amyloid fibril formation, which is poorly understood. I have published more than 43 papers in high-ranking journals such as Biochemistry, PlosOne, Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, Soft Matter and Physical Chemistry B. I ​uses various modern spectroscopic (fluorescence, CD, FTIR, and dynamic and static light scattering), calorimetric (isothermal titration calorimeter (ITC) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and microscopy (transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy) techniques. I have received several awards in his research area and the list are as follows. 1. Post-doctoral Fellow at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISER-M). 2. Awarded three years Dr. D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2013, India. 3. Received a travel grant for poster presentation in International Conference Polonia Castle in Pultusk, Poland. 4. Received a travel grant for poster presentation in Japan. 5. Senior research fellowship (CSIR-SRF) from council of Scientific and Industrial Research (2011 to 2012). 6. Selected as UGC-BSR junior research fellow in 2011. 7. Selected as a junior research fellow for DBT funded project entitled “Characterization of molten globule in banana lectin” (2007 to 2010).
