Research Interests

The present focus of Dr. Neelesh Sharma’s research is to find our most suitable potent therapeutic option for the management of mastitis in dairy animals using different aspects such stem cell based and nano-particles based approach. He has used various antibacterial proteins and their genes transfected into cow mammary stem cells. Transfected antibacterial proteins secreted by stem cells and showed strong anti-bacterial activity against mastitis isolates. Nano-particles based approach can surmount the issue of improper contact of microorganisms and drugs due to intracellular property of few organisms. He assumes that nano-particles based approach can also improve the targeted drug delivery system and reduce the dose of drug, which directly affect the treatment cost.
