Dr. Qing Yan Liu is presently working as a Senior Research Officer at National Research Council of Canada and also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology (BMI) at University of Ottawa. She has received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology form Dalhousie University. She is the recipient of several honors and awards for her excellence. She has authored 2 refereed Chapters in books, 44 articles, 10 major invited contributions and technical reports, 44 abstracts were published in peer reviewed journals. She is serving as an editorial board member in several national and international journals.
Dr. Qing Yan Liu’s research interest includes using genomics approaches for biomarker identification, developing diagnostic tests based on qPCR, identification of carriers that can deliver therapeutics across the blood brain barrier and implement biomarker strategies within the pharmaceutical development chain. Her team also develop and improve high-throughput measurement methods, including Next Generation Sequencing, DNA and protein array production and utilization, Micro Western Arrays assays, precision DNA measurement, and participate in bio-assay development for validation and calibration of the next generation label-free biochips for clinical applications.
