Dr. Kumaresan Ramanathan is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Periyar Maniammai University, India. He received Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Bharathidasan University. He is a member of many professional societies and he is also acting as editorial board member for several peer reviewed journals. He was honored as a Best Teaching Staff award under the School of Architecture, Engineering and Technology (SAET) for the year 2013-2014 by Periyar Maniammai University.
Dr. Kumaresan Ramanathan’s research interests includes Clinical Biochemistry, Basic Molecular Biological and Animal tissue culture Techniques, Biomarkers: To identify and evaluate the biomarker for the early prediction of cardiovascular and kidney diseases. Also emphasizes on the identification, Evaluation and validation of protein biomarker for the early diagnosis of peritonitis in the continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patients, Development of biosensors for the early diagnosis of diabetes and diabetic nephropathy and The micro RNA (MiRNA) profiling for prediction of gene responsible for cardiac calcification in chronic kidney disease patients which will gives a platform for new drug discovery to target that particular gene.
