Dr. Fazal Jalil is currently working as an assistant professor at Center for Biotechnology & Microbiology, University of Swat-KP. He completed his PhD at Atta-Ur-Rahman School of Applied Biosciences (ASAB), National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Islamabad-Pakistan and at Dept of Human Genetics, University of Pittsburgh, USA. He published many articles in international journals.
Dr. Fazal Jalil research is mainly focused on Identification and Characterization of Genes/Pathways of Rheumatoid Arthritis and other common complex diseases from Pakistani Population, Identification of genetic variants in important immuno-regulatory genes from RA and SLE patients and evaluate their association with the phenotype, Cloning of these gene (s) from our local patients samples, Development of animal models and targeted therapy, Currently working on a join project on RA with Department of Human Genetics, University of Pittsburgh (Dr. Kamboh) to perform a Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) on Pakistani related and unrelated samples, Modeling of gene networks using the approaches of systems biology to predict the pathogenic and non-pathogenic behaviors in collaboration with Dr. Jami Ahmed, RCMS-NUST, Epidemiological survey of different infectious and complex diseases in District Swat.
