Vesna Stojanovic is a pediatrician-nephrologist. Her current position is Head of Intermediate Intensive Care Unit, at Institute of Child and Youth Healthcare of Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Serbia. She is an associate professor of Pediatrics at the Medical Faculty in Novi Sad.
Vesna Stojanovic is President of Pediatric Association of Vojvodina and Deputy Chair of Continuous renal replacement therapy section of European Society of Pediatric Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC). She has published 48 works – 12 in Serbian and 36 in international publications.
Vesna Stojanovic fields of interests are pediatric nephrology, especially neonatal nephrology and intensive care and therapy.She is also very interested in research. She did her PhD thesis in the field of experimental nephrology. In experimental work, the fields of interest are early biomarkers of acute renal failure - KIM-1, NGAL, IL-18 etc., ischemia-reperfusion and damages occurring upon it. Now the work is in an animal model of intrauterine growth restriction and examines renal glomeruli of these rats.
