Biography

Dr. Dipak Maity is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering, Shiv Nadar University, UP, India. He completed his Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore and his M.Tech. in Materials Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India. He pursued his postdoctoral research work from NUS, Singapore and later from the Regional Centre of Advance Technologies and Materials (RCPTM), Czech Republic. He has published more than twenty four research articles in different reputable scientific journals like Biomaterials, Nanomedicine, Chemical Communication, Journal of Materials Chemistry, and several others (Citations: over 850). He also holds one patent and authored or co-authored 3 books and book chapters. He participated in several international scientific conferences worldwide in USA (JMMM-IC), UK (NANOMED), Australia (ICONN), Czech Republic (MSMS), UAE (ICDDT), Singapore (AsiaNANO, NanoToday), India (ICONSAT, ICONN) etc. He received numerous Honors and Awards like Gold Medal in Chemistry, UGC Faculty Recharge Award, Young Scientist Research Award, Best Paper/Poster Awards, several Merit Scholarships and Fellowships. Recently, he awarded a prestigious Nano Mission research grant of 50 lakh rupees from Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. He also served as a Review member and Editorial member for various scientific journals. His main research interest lies in “Multifunctional Magnetic Nanoparticles for Biomedical Application”, especially in synthesizing superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) with different robust surfactants and their co-encapsulation with chemotherapeutic drugs (CHDs) inside thermosensitive and biodegradable polymer/niosomes based drug delivery systems to study their effects as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents, and magnetic hyperthermia agents for Cancer Theranostic Applications.

Research Interests

Dr. Dipak Maity’s is interested in the fields of Magnetic Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications, Nanoparticles based Nanomedicine, Nanomaterials for Cancer Theranostics and Drug Delivery/Targeting, and Iron Oxide Nanoparticles and Their Applications.
