Dr. Shankar M Bakkannavar, MD, DCL, MBAHCS is an Associate Professor at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, India. Dr. Bakkannavar has over 100 scientific papers and projects either presented or published. He has number of scientific paper presentations nationally and internationally to his credit. He is actively involved in scientific research in the field of Forensic pathology and Forensic Medicine. Dr. Bakkannavar is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Karnataka Medico Legal Society, Associate editor of Indian Journal of Forensic and Community Medicine, Associate editor of Journal of Scientific Research in Allied Science (JUSRES). Dr. Bakkannavar is a life member of many academic bodies like Karnataka medicolegal society, South Indian Medicolegal Society, Academy of Indian Forensic Medicine, Asia Pacific Academy of Medical Toxicology, Indian Society of Forensic Nursing etc. Dr. Bakkannavar has been awarded Best poster Presentation in Medical Conferences twice. He is actively involved in Medical education and bioethics. Dr. Bakkannavar holds a MD in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology from Manipal University, Diploma in Cyber law from Symbiosis, Pune and MBAHCS from Sikkim Manipal University, India with highest honors from Manipal University.
