Dr. Helen E. Battisti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is also the Director of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics. He earned her Ph.D. degree in Human Development/Health Promotion from Marywood University, Scranton, Pennsylvania. She is a Registered Dietitian. After her Ph.D. degree, she worked as an Assistant Professor and the Assistant Director of the Online Combined Master’s degree and Dietetic Internship program at the State University of New York at Oneonta, until 2013. Prior to becoming a faculty member, she was a practitioner, developing a comprehensive eating disorder clinic in the upstate New York area.
Dr. Helen E. Battisti has collaborated with investigators on many studies, both federally and privately funded, including woman’s health in rural settings, childhood obesity in rural areas of the United States, and corporate wellness. She received many awards and grants including those associated with her work in the area of Alzheimer’s and feeding methods. She authored numerous articles, presented extensively both nationally and internationally, and was the nutrition reporter for the FOX affiliate WICZ for over 10 years. she has been a nutrition consultant to Fortune 500 companies including Nestle’s - verybestkids. She is a member of Professional organizations including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Dr. Helen E. Battisti’s current research interests include the adaptation of lifestyle, utilizing equine assisted growth and learning methodology, to modify nutrient intake, energy expenditure and body composition as measured by Duel Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry in overweight and obese children.
