Lutfor Rahman did his PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, England. He did MSc in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) from Rajshahi University, Rajshahi. He has been a Full Professor since 1980. He was Vice-Chancellor at Islamic University, Kushtia and Pro Vice-Chancellor at National University, Gazipur.
Lutfor Rahman received many scholarships/grants and Honors. He received Senior Fellowship offered by the German Academic Exchange Organization (DAAD) in 1996. He was awarded a Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship in 1974. He gains professional membership and affiliations in various societies like Life member in Bangladesh Chemical Society, Member of Evaluation Committee for Chemical Sciences, University Grants Commission, and Member of Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science, Former President of Bangladesh Chemical Society, Regional Branch, Rajshahi, etc. He is the author of many publications and books.
Lutfor Rahman research interests include Physical chemistry, environmental chemistry, renewable energy, climate change and adaptations.
