BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Vedat Goral had graduated medical school at Diyarbakir University.  Professor Vedat Goral is currently the Head of Department of Gastroenterology, at Istanbul University School of Medicine. His specific teaching and research interests are in the areas of Gastroenterology (endoscopy, gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases and ERCP). Previous to this, he was working at the Dicle University from 1987 to 2012. He has an international project about amoebiasis study at 1992-1993 years. He has also published many refereed articles in journals covered by SCI, and contributed some to Turkish books written in Turkish. Also, he has many abstracts at national and international congress.

Dr. Vedat Goral studied nearly 2 years (Monbusho Scholarship) at Department of Gastroenterology, Chiba University School of Medicine, Japan, 2 months at Department of Gastroenterology, Giessen University, Germany and at Department of Gastroenterology, Chelsea&Westminister Hospital, London University, England. He speaks English and Japanese languages.

Dr. Vedat Goral completed his ​PhD degree Dicle University, Turkey in 1986; he has studied between 1990-1991 years at Chiba University, School of Medicine Department of Gastroenterology, Japan, and 1992 years Giessen University School of Medicine Department of Gastroenterology, Germany and at 1998 years Chealsea & Westminster Hospital, Department of Gastroenterology, and England.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Dr. Vedat Goral’s main research interests include H. pylori, Endoscopy, GI tract and pancreatic cancer, ERCP.
