Dr. Dieudonne Kaimbo Wa Kaimbo is full professor of ophthalmology and biophysics at the University of Kinshasa. He earned his medical degree at the University of Kinshasa and obtained a PhD in glaucoma in 1999 at the Catholic University of Leuven. He has conducted research on several epidemiological topics. His main research interest areas are in ophthalmology: a) glaucoma, epidemiology of eye diseases, refraction, cataract and b) diabetes mellitus, uveitis. He has been supervisor for more than 20 MSC theses and 3 PhD theses at Universities. He is member of AAO, ARVO, ISRS, EVER, French and Belgian Ophthalmological Societies. He has published a large number of papers in peer reviewed scientific journals (more than 50). He has written 4 book chapters and has more than 80 communications, abstracts and posters. He is on the editorial board of local, regional and international medical journals and is an active reviewer of medical journals.
